Why does it take a while?
The whole video is re-encoded by a WebAssembly build of ffmpeg running inside your browser tab. It is slower than a server, but your file never leaves your device.
How much smaller will it get?
Most phone footage drops 50–80% at the Balanced setting. The result panel shows the exact before and after sizes before you download.
